Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic achieved a historic victory in the women's 400m final at the Paris 2024 Olympics. She set a new Olympic record with a time of 48.17 seconds, becoming the first woman from her country to win an Olympic gold medal in any sport. Paulino's performance not only secured her the gold medal but also placed her as the fourth-fastest woman ever in the 400m event, marking the 6th fastest time in world history.
