VisitDOJ Mandates Hiring of 16 Firefighters in Durham, Oregon Official Mike Shaw Placed on Leave
Oct 11, 2024, 03:43 PM
The Biden-Harris Justice Department has determined that the hiring process for firefighters in the Durham, North Carolina Fire Department is discriminatory due to a written test that allegedly discriminates against Black candidates. To pass the test, candidates need a 70% score. The Department of Justice is now mandating the department to hire 16 African Americans who failed the test. Additionally, Megan Donecker, a DEI trainer, filed a complaint against Oregon’s forestry department deputy head Mike Shaw for hiring candidates based on merit rather than identity. Shaw has been placed on leave while the complaint is investigated.
