An Oregon mother and daughter have been federally indicted by the Department of Justice for allegedly trafficking and enslaving three Haitian individuals, including a minor, at Velida's Adult Foster Care in Tigard, Oregon. The two suspects, who owned and operated the care home, are charged with conspiring to commit forced labor, committing forced labor, and benefiting from forced labor. The alleged trafficking scheme began in 2023.
