VisitDeSantis Opens Free Fuel Sites in Plant City, Bradenton, St. Petersburg Amid Gas Shortages
Oct 12, 2024, 03:40 PM
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced the establishment of free fuel distribution sites in response to fuel shortages and power outages affecting gas stations in certain areas, where long lines have formed and some stations are without power. Three initial sites have been set up in Plant City, Bradenton, and St. Petersburg, providing up to 10 gallons of gas per vehicle free of charge. The specific locations are Plant City Stadium at 1810 South Park Road, Plant City; 280 Kay Road, Bradenton; and Central Lot Parking Lot at 800 1st Ave S., St. Petersburg. The sites opened at 10 a.m. today and will operate daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until retailers are back online. The Florida Division of Emergency Management is operating the sites, and more locations will be announced soon. The state has over 1.8 million gallons of diesel and over a million gallons of gas on hand to assist in the distribution.
