Jan 17, 2025, 08:01 PM
Denis Law, the legendary Manchester United and Scotland striker, has passed away at the age of 84. Known as 'The King' and 'The Lawman,' Law scored 237 goals in 404 appearances for Manchester United, making him the club's third-highest goalscorer behind Wayne Rooney and Bobby Charlton. He was a key member of the 'United Trinity' alongside George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton, which led United to win the European Cup in 1968, although Law missed the final due to injury. Law also played for Huddersfield Town, Manchester City, and Torino during his career, and was capped 55 times for Scotland, scoring a joint-record 30 goals. He was the only Scottish player to win the Ballon d'Or, receiving the award in 1964. Law had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia in 2021.
