Oct 26, 2024, 04:50 AM
Delta Air Lines has filed a lawsuit against cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, alleging that a global technology outage on July 19 caused mass flight cancellations, disrupted travel plans for 1.3 million customers, and resulted in over $500 million in losses. The outage, which was attributed to a software update by CrowdStrike, led to the cancellation of 7,000 flights and significantly impacted Delta's operations, reducing revenue by $380 million. Delta is seeking damages for its losses, as well as litigation costs and punitive damages. The lawsuit was filed in a Georgia state court.
