Sep 20, 2024, 12:21 AM
Delta Prime DeFi protocol has suffered a significant security breach resulting in a loss of approximately $6 million. The incident occurred on September 16, 2024, after the protocol's admin private key was compromised, allowing the attacker to gain control and drain various token pools. The attack primarily affected the DeltaPrime Blue deployment on the Arbitrum blockchain, with the hacker upgrading proxies to a malicious contract. So far, $5.93 million has been drained. The stolen funds have been transferred to new addresses and laundered through Tornado Cash. The source of the private key compromise is currently under investigation. DeltaPrime's TVL crashed 40% as users raced to withdraw their assets amid the incident. There are also allegations of North Korea links to the hack.
