VisitDelhi Police and Special Cell Investigate Low-Intensity Explosion Near CRPF School in Rohini
Oct 20, 2024, 08:40 AM
A low-intensity explosion occurred near the CRPF school in Sector 14, Rohini, Delhi, prompting the Delhi Police to register an FIR under the Explosives Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The case, which will be transferred to the Special Cell, is being investigated by experts from the Forensic Department, Crime Team, and the Special Cell. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of radical groups, with materials likely sourced from the local market. The blast, which could have caused more damage if the bomb's container had not been misaligned, is similar to the 2011 Delhi High Court blast. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also involved in the investigation. The area has been cordoned off, and CCTV footage from nearby shops is being reviewed. According to Delhi Police PRO, Sanjay Tyagi, the CRPF school was chosen as a target to send a message.
