VisitDelhi Police Busts International Organ Transplant Racket, Arrests Seven Including 50-Year-Old Doctor

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested seven individuals, including a 50-year-old woman doctor, in connection with an international organ transplant racket. The racket, which primarily operated between Bangladesh and the Delhi-NCR region, involved the illegal harvesting and transplanting of kidneys. The accused charged between Rs 25-30 lakhs per transplant and had conducted 15-16 operations over the past few years. Among those arrested were three Bangladeshi nationals, one of whom was identified as the mastermind, and an Indian translator who is also a doctor. The victims and donors were primarily from Bangladesh. DCP Crime Branch Amit Goel confirmed the arrests, including a person named Russell and two hospital staff.
