Delhi HC Extends Protection for Puja Khedkar Amid Fraud Investigation

The Delhi High Court has extended the interim protection from arrest for former IAS trainee officer Puja Khedkar until August 29, following a hearing on her anticipatory bail plea. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) strongly opposed her bail, arguing that custodial interrogation is necessary to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and fraud, including identifying other individuals who may have assisted her. Khedkar is accused of fraudulently gaining extra attempts in the civil services exam by falsifying her identity. The Delhi Police report confirms that Khedkar is not entitled to OBC and non-creamy layer reservation benefits, as she is not from the OBC category.
