VisitDeadly Baltimore Key Bridge Collapse Ship Refloated, Moving Back to Port on Monday
May 20, 2024, 09:50 AM
Nearly two months after a deadly collision with Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, the container ship Dali has been refloated and is moving back to port. The incident, which occurred in March, caused the collapse of the bridge and led to the closure of Baltimore Harbor. Authorities have confirmed that the ship will be transported to a nearby marine terminal with the assistance of high tide and tugboats. The refloating operation began on Monday morning, marking a significant step in reopening access to the Port of Baltimore. The 948-foot-long vessel had 22 crew members on board during the entire period, including during a controlled explosion.
