VisitDC Police Increase Reward to $60,000 for Tyrell Lamonte Bailey in Officer's Fatal Shooting

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C., has increased the reward to $60,000 for information leading to the arrest of Tyrell Lamonte Bailey. Bailey, 27, is wanted in connection with the accidental shooting death of veteran officer Wayne David. The incident occurred when Officer David attempted to retrieve a gun hidden in a storm drain, which discharged and resulted in his death. The MPD, along with federal partners including the FBI, ATF, and U.S. Marshals, are actively searching for Bailey. The weapon offense occurred on August 28th, and additional charges against Bailey are possible. The incident led to the Wednesday death of Officer David, and new pictures of Bailey have been released.
