VisitDanish Police Arrest Three After Explosions Near Israeli Embassy; Shots Fired at Stockholm Embassy
Oct 2, 2024, 08:21 AM
Danish police are investigating two explosions that occurred early Wednesday near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. No injuries were reported from the blasts, which are believed to have been caused by hand grenades. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident, including two Swedish nationals who were apprehended on a train at Copenhagen's Central Station. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the Israeli embassy was the intended target of the attacks. As a precaution, a nearby Jewish school was closed for the day, and security around the embassy has been increased. In a separate incident, Swedish police reported that shots were fired at the Israeli embassy in Stockholm on Tuesday night. No arrests have been made, but a gun was recovered at the scene. There were no injuries reported in that incident.
