Jun 23, 2024, 01:27 AM
Sha'Carri Richardson, a Dallas native and former LSU track star, has secured her spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics after an impressive performance at the U.S. Olympic track trials. Despite stumbling at the start and running with an untied shoe, Richardson won her 100-meter heat with a time of 10.88 seconds. She continued her strong performance by winning the semifinal with a time of 10.86 seconds and ultimately clinched her Olympic berth by winning the final in 10.71 seconds. This time is the fastest recorded in the world this season. Richardson's journey to the Olympics marks a significant comeback after missing out on the 2020 Olympics. After her victory, she went into the stands to hug her grandmother.
