VisitD.C. Circuit Court Rules Clinton's 2016 Campaign Violated Election Laws, Faces $6 Million Fine
Jul 12, 2024, 02:39 PM
A D.C. Circuit Court has ruled that Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and a pro-Clinton political action committee (PAC) violated federal election laws. The court found that the campaign and the PAC, 'Correct The Record,' improperly coordinated and failed to properly disclose millions in expenditures, amounting to nearly $6 million. This ruling highlights that the campaign crossed spending lines in a multimillion-dollar effort to support Clinton's bid against Donald Trump. As a result of this ruling, Clinton’s campaign faces a $6 million fine. The Federal Election Commission (FEC) was involved in the case, and the ruling was delivered by an appeals court on Tuesday.
