Sep 5, 2024, 01:53 AM
The Chicago Cubs achieved a historic combined no-hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates, winning 12-0. Shota Imanaga led the effort with seven no-hit innings, throwing 95 pitches, before being relieved by Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge. This marks the Cubs' first no-hitter at Wrigley Field since 1972 and the 18th in the franchise's history. The Cubs' pitching trio allowed no hits, struck out a combined total of seven batters, and Imanaga generated 20 whiffs and allowed 2 BB. This is also the second combined no-hitter in the Cubs' history and the fourth no-hitter in Major League Baseball this season.
