Conor McGregor, the mixed martial arts fighter and former UFC champion, has been found liable by a civil jury in Ireland for raping and sexually assaulting a woman in December 2018. The High Court in Dublin ordered McGregor to pay the victim, identified as Nikita Hand, nearly €250,000 ($257,000) in damages. The assault occurred in a Dublin hotel penthouse after a night of heavy partying. The woman testified that McGregor choked her multiple times and threatened her life. McGregor has stated he will appeal the decision.
