VisitConcerns Mount Over 81-Year-Old Biden's Cognitive Abilities After Time Interview and WSJ Report
Jun 5, 2024, 01:31 PM
Concerns over President Joe Biden's cognitive abilities have intensified following a recent interview with Time magazine and a detailed report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The Time interview, which was lightly edited, raised alarms about Biden's coherence and ability to serve a second term. The WSJ report, based on interviews with 45 individuals, including both Democrats and Republicans, highlighted Biden's declining mental acuity, noting that he often appears slower and less sharp in private meetings. During a January meeting on Ukraine funding, Biden reportedly spoke so softly that some participants struggled to hear him. The White House has refuted these claims, suggesting they are politically motivated. However, the concerns have led to increased calls for Biden to undergo a cognitive test, with some Democrats reportedly being pressured to retract their statements about his condition. Biden, 81, has stated that he never considered not running for re-election due to his age, despite widespread public concern, with 75% of Americans believing he is too old to serve a second term.
