VisitCommanders Sweep Giants 27-22; McLaurin's Two TDs Lead Washington to 7-2 Record

The Washington Commanders defeated the New York Giants 27-22 on Sunday, improving their record to 7-2 for the first time since 1996 and sweeping the season series against the Giants. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels completed 15 of 22 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns, both to wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who had two catches for 19 yards. The Giants, now 2-7, struggled in the first half, trailing 21-7 with quarterback Daniel Jones completing 4 of 6 passes for 0 yards but throwing a touchdown. Jones finished the game completing 20 of 26 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns, including a 35-yard pass to rookie tight end Theo Johnson for his first career touchdown. Jones also rushed for 54 yards on seven carries, including a 2-yard touchdown run. The Giants attempted two unsuccessful two-point conversions, which contributed to their loss.
