Nov 3, 2024, 08:18 PM
The Washington Commanders defeated the New York Giants 27-22 at MetLife Stadium, sweeping the Giants for the season and achieving their best start since 1996 with a 7-2 record. Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, both to wide receiver Terry McLaurin, and added 37 rushing yards on six carries. McLaurin finished the game with two receptions for 19 yards and two touchdowns, both in the first half against Giants cornerback Deonte Banks. Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had an unusual stat line in the first half, with zero passing yards but one touchdown pass, becoming the first player since at least 2000 to do so. Jones threw his first home touchdown pass in 672 days and ended the game completing 20 of 26 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 54 yards and a touchdown. The Commanders now lead the NFC with the most wins at 7-2, while the Giants fall to 2-7.
