Colombian authorities have announced a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug trafficking. The Colombian Navy intercepted 14 tons of cocaine aboard three semi-submersible vessels en route to Australia, one of the world's most lucrative drug markets. The semi-submersibles reportedly travel nonstop from Colombia to Australia. The estimated retail value of the seized drugs exceeds $3.3 billion, with cocaine reportedly priced at $240,000 per kilogram in Australia. This operation is part of a larger international effort spanning 45 days, involving over 60 countries, including the United States, Brazil, and the Netherlands. In total, 225 tons of cocaine were confiscated during the operation. Colombian officials have also uncovered a new drug trafficking route connecting Colombia to Australia, highlighting the evolving strategies of global criminal networks.
