Aug 14, 2024, 09:19 AM
A German military base near Cologne, specifically the Cologne-Wahn Bundeswehr base, has been placed on lockdown following a suspected sabotage incident. The base, which is adjacent to Cologne airport and employs 4,300 soldiers and 1,200 civilians, was sealed off after authorities discovered potential contamination of the water supply. Police and counterintelligence units are currently investigating the situation, which involved a break-in and damage to the perimeter fence. As a precaution, soldiers and civilians at the base have been advised not to consume tap water until further notice.
