Cole Custer clinched the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular season championship with a victory at Bristol in the Food City 300. Custer's win marked his second of the season and allowed him to overcome a significant points deficit to surpass Justin Allgaier, who finished 30th after a series of misfortunes. Custer won the championship by three points. Sheldon Creed finished second, and Chandler Smith placed third. Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished in seventh place in his only start of the year.
