VisitClemson Set to Hire Penn State's Tom Allen as Defensive Coordinator
Jan 13, 2025, 03:30 PM
Clemson University is working toward a deal to hire Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Allen as the school's new defensive coordinator, according to multiple sources. Allen, who led Penn State's defense to a No. 5 national ranking in total defense among FBS teams this year, is the top target for Clemson, and a final decision is expected in the next day or so. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is leading the effort to bring Allen to the Tigers. Allen previously served as the head coach at Indiana before joining Penn State. His potential move to Clemson comes after a successful season guiding one of the most talented defenses in college football to the College Football Playoff semifinal.
