Nov 13, 2024, 01:22 PM
Federal prosecutors have charged a U.S. government employee, identified as Asif W. Rahman, with disclosing classified documents that appeared to show Israel's plans to retaliate against Iran for a missile attack earlier this year. Rahman, a CIA official with top security clearance, was indicted last week in federal court in Virginia with two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information under the Espionage Act. He was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday in Cambodia. The leaked documents purportedly detailed Israel's military preparations against Iran.
