VisitChris Wallace, 77, Exits CNN After Three Years to Pursue Independent Streaming and Podcasting
Nov 12, 2024, 12:37 AM
Chris Wallace, the 77-year-old veteran journalist and former Fox News anchor, is departing CNN after nearly three years at the network. He joined CNN in 2021 to host shows on its short-lived streaming service CNN+. He now plans to pursue opportunities in independent streaming and podcasting, which he described as "where the action seems to be." Wallace noted that this is the first time in 55 years he has been "a free agent," calling the experience "quite liberating." His shows will conclude at the end of their scheduled run later this year. CNN CEO Mark Thompson praised Wallace's contributions, calling him "one of the most respected political journalists in the news business" and wishing him "the very best for the future."
