VisitChino Valley Unified, Liberty Justice Center Sue California Over Assembly Bill 1955
Jul 17, 2024, 12:14 PM
The Liberty Justice Center has filed a lawsuit against Governor Gavin Newsom and the state of California, challenging Assembly Bill 1955. This recently signed law, referred to by some as the 'Government’s Right to Lie to Parents' law, prohibits schools from adopting parental notification policies if a student identifies as transgender. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California on behalf of local parents and the Chino Valley Unified School District. The Liberty Justice Center argues that the law infringes on parental rights and transparency in schools.
