Chinese shooters Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao have made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning the first gold medal of the games. The duo triumphed in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event, defeating South Koreans Jihyeon Keum and Hajun Park at the Châteauroux Shooting Center. This victory marked the beginning of a successful run for China in shooting events. Sheng Lihao continued his winning streak by securing another gold medal in the men's 10-meter air rifle event with a record-setting score of 252.2 points, surpassing the previous Olympic record held by William Shaner from the USA. Additionally, Yu Xie won gold in the 10-meter air pistol event with a score of 240.9, narrowly beating Italian Federico Nilo Maldini, who scored 240. This contributed to China's impressive medal tally in shooting, including their third gold.
