Aug 19, 2024, 02:56 AM
China experienced a significant increase in foreign visitors from January to July 2024, with a total of 17.25 million inbound trips, marking a 129.9% year-on-year rise, according to the National Immigration Administration. This surge is attributed to the implementation of visa-free policies and other measures aimed at facilitating foreign visits. Additionally, the issuance of port visas rose by 182.9% to 846,000. The overall increase in tourism is expected to boost spending by over 100 billion yuan (approximately USD 14 billion), with each overseas tourist contributing an average of CNY 3,500 per day.
