China Unveils Largest Homegrown Tunnel Boring Machine with 16.64m Diameter on Thursday

China has unveiled its largest homegrown tunnel boring machine (TBM) with a record-breaking excavation diameter of 16.64 meters. The machine, named 'Jianghai,' rolled off the production line on Thursday in Changsha, Central China's Hunan Province. This TBM is set to help drill a 9,315-meter section of the Haitai Yangtze River Tunnel, which will be the world's longest underwater shield highway tunnel in Jiangsu Province. The development marks a significant breakthrough in China's industrialization and engineering capabilities.
