VisitChina Unveils CR450 Prototype by China Railway, Set to Be World's Fastest at 400 km/h with 450 km/h Test Speed
Dec 29, 2024, 04:37 AM
China unveiled a prototype of the CR450 high-speed train in Beijing on Sunday, marking a significant advancement in rail technology. Developed by China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., the train is capable of reaching speeds up to 450 km/h during testing and is designed to operate commercially at 400 km/h. This new model is set to become the fastest high-speed train in the world upon entering commercial service, surpassing the current operational speeds of existing trains like the CR Fuxing. The CR450 features improvements in energy efficiency, with a 22% reduction in running resistance and a 10% decrease in overall weight, alongside enhancements in passenger comfort through reduced interior noise by 2 decibels and increased passenger space by 4%. The train also incorporates intelligent upgrades in train control, driver interaction, safety monitoring, and passenger services, reflecting China's ongoing commitment to technological innovation in rail transport.
