VisitChina Unveils CR450 High-Speed Train in Beijing, Capable of 450 km/h Test Speed and 400 km/h Operation
Dec 29, 2024, 07:18 AM
China unveiled a prototype of the CR450 high-speed train in Beijing on Sunday, marking a significant advancement in rail technology. The train, developed by the China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., is designed to operate at a commercial speed of 400 kilometers per hour and has achieved a test speed of 450 kilometers per hour. This new model surpasses the current CR400 Fuxing trains, which operate at a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The CR450 is expected to reduce travel times significantly once it enters commercial service, enhancing passenger convenience and efficiency. The prototype's debut highlights China's ongoing efforts to lead in global high-speed rail technology. The CR450 also features a 22% reduction in operational resistance, a 10% reduction in weight, a 4% increase in passenger space, and a 2 dB reduction in interior noise, further improving energy efficiency and passenger comfort.
