China successfully launched the Tianping-3 satellite on Tuesday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province. The satellite was sent into space at 8:10 a.m. Beijing Time (0010 UTC) using a Long March-6 carrier rocket and has successfully entered its preset orbit. The Tianping-3 satellite, which will primarily be used for atmospheric space environment surveys, orbital prediction model corrections, and radar calibration, marks the 541st mission of the Long March carrier rocket series.
