China's Tiangong, the world's first electric running humanoid robot, has gone open source, with software development and structural design documents made available for researchers and collaborators. The robot, developed by the state-backed Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, recently achieved a significant milestone by completing a half marathon in Yizhuang, Beijing. Tiangong covered the 20-kilometer distance in 1 hour and 57 minutes, maintaining an average speed of approximately 3.73 miles per hour (6 kilometers per hour). This development aims to enhance secondary development and facilitate the integration of robots into everyday life.
