VisitChina's GDP Growth Falls to 4.6% in Q3, Slowest in Over a Year
Oct 18, 2024, 02:09 AM
China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.6% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2024, slightly surpassing the estimated 4.5% but marking a slowdown from 5.3% growth in Q1 and 4.7% in Q2, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on Friday. This brings the GDP growth for the first three quarters to 4.8%, just below the estimated 4.9%, totaling 94.97 trillion yuan (approximately $13.33 trillion). The third-quarter growth is the country's slowest in over a year, highlighting concerns over the pace of economic recovery and the potential need for additional stimulus measures.
