VisitChina's EV Charging Piles Surge by 49.6% to 11.43 Million: National Energy Administration

China has seen a significant increase in the number of charging piles for electric vehicles (EV), reaching 11.43 million as of the end of September 2024. This marks a 49.6% increase from the previous year, according to the latest government data from the National Energy Administration. Of these, approximately 3.33 million are public charging piles. The surge in charging infrastructure comes as China continues to expand its fleet of new energy vehicles, which currently totals 28.09 million. Notably, 2.84 million charging piles were added in the first nine months of 2024.
