VisitChina Responds to Canada's 25% Aluminum and 100% Auto Tariffs with Anti-Dumping Probes
Sep 3, 2024, 03:55 AM
China has expressed strong dissatisfaction with Canada's decision to impose a 25% additional tariff on certain aluminum products from China. The China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association emphasized that Chinese exports to Canada have not harmed the country. In response, China's Commerce Ministry announced plans to launch anti-dumping probes into Canadian canola and chemicals. The ministry also stated that it will take measures to protect Chinese firms' interests. Additionally, rapeseed meal prices in Zhengzhou surged by 6%, hitting the daily up-limit, following the news of the probes. China imports 80% of its rapeseed meal from Canada. The probes follow Canada's 100% tariffs on Chinese auto imports, affecting companies like BYDFF, NIO, and TSLA.
