VisitChina Mandates 30% New Energy Vehicles in Government Fleet Purchases, 100% for Fixed-Route Vehicles
Dec 30, 2024, 02:03 AM
China's Ministry of Finance has announced that new-energy vehicles (NEVs) must constitute at least 30% of the total annual government vehicle procurement. This mandate applies unless NEVs do not meet the actual official needs. Additionally, for official vehicles that operate under fixed routes and scenarios, the procurement ratio for NEVs is set to 100%. The directive emphasizes prioritizing NEVs for vehicle leasing services as well. This initiative aligns with a growing interest in electric vehicles, as recent data indicates that half of Mexican consumers plan to purchase new technology vehicles within the next two years, according to EY.
