Sep 25, 2024, 03:01 PM
Hackers linked to the Chinese government, under Xi Jinping, have breached a handful of U.S. internet service providers in recent months in a cyberattack campaign dubbed 'Salt Typhoon'. The attackers targeted sensitive information and disrupted a network of more than 200,000 routers, cameras, and other internet-connected consumer devices, which served as entry points into U.S. networks. The Wall Street Journal reported that the breaches have raised significant concerns about cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure in the United States.
