China's Ministry of Commerce has announced a trade and investment barrier investigation into the European Union's recent actions under the Foreign Subsidies Regulation. This investigation, which will last from July 10, 2024, to January 10, 2025, and may be extended to April 10, 2025, under special conditions, is in response to the EU's probes into Chinese firms, particularly in the railway locomotive, photovoltaic, and wind power equipment sectors. The investigation, requested by a Chinese industry association, underscores rising tensions between the two economic blocs.
