VisitChina Launches Pilot Program to Expand Telecom Services in Four Key Areas Starting October 23

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology launched a pilot program on October 22 to expand opening-up in value-added telecommunications services in four designated areas: Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan, and Shenzhen. This initiative, starting from October 23, allows foreign enterprises to operate value-added telecommunications services, including internet data centers, in these regions. Notably, ten foreign companies, including Tesla, Trafigura, HSBC Fintech, and a subsidiary of Siemens, have filed applications to join the program. The program aims to encourage foreign investment and enhance the telecommunications sector in China.
