VisitChina Launches Anti-Dumping Probe on EU Pork Imports and By-Products Starting June 17 Amid Trade Tensions
Jun 17, 2024, 07:26 AM
China's Ministry of Commerce has initiated an anti-dumping investigation into pork and pork by-products imported from the European Union. This action follows formal applications from Chinese industries and comes in response to the European Union's recent decision to impose anti-subsidy duties on Chinese-made electric vehicles. The investigation, which begins on June 17, 2024, is expected to conclude by June 17, 2025, though it may be extended by an additional six months under special conditions. The period of investigation for dumping is the year 2023, and the period for assessing damage spans from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, Chinese firms reserve the right to request anti-subsidy and anti-dumping investigations into EU dairy imports. The move is seen as an escalation in trade tensions between Beijing and Brussels.
