China, France, Italy, and Spain have expressed strong condemnation of the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) recent attacks on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). The attacks, which injured two peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, have been described as deliberate and unjustifiable. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that any deliberate attacks on peacekeepers are severe violations of international law. French President Emmanuel Macron, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez issued a joint statement condemning the attacks, with Macron stating that France will not tolerate such actions. Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto added that the attacks on the observation tower could constitute war crimes and represent serious violations of international humanitarian law.
