VisitChina Discovers $83 Billion, 1,000-Tonne Gold Deposit in Hunan

A superlarge gold deposit with estimated reserves of more than 1,000 tonnes, valued at approximately $83 billion (600 billion yuan), has been discovered in central China's Hunan Province. The Geological Bureau of Hunan Province announced the finding, noting that the gold reserves are located at depths of up to 3,000 meters. This significant discovery includes over 40 gold mines identified within the Wangu gold field in Pingjiang. The gold deposit is considered one of the largest ever found in China, highlighting the region's rich mineral resources. The estimated value of the gold reserves is also reported to be around 13 trillion yen.
