VisitChina Blacklists U.S. Defense Contractors, Including General Dynamics, Over Taiwan Arms Sales
May 20, 2024, 02:32 AM
China's Ministry of Commerce has blacklisted several U.S. defense contractors, including General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, General Dynamics Land Systems, and Boeing Defense, Space & Security, from trading and investing in China. This move, announced on Monday, is in response to these companies' involvement in arms sales to Taiwan. The sanctions, which prohibit these firms from participating in import and export activities related to China, coincide with the inauguration of Taiwan's new leader. The blacklisted companies have also been added to China's unreliable entities list. The sanctions are seen as mostly symbolic.
