China's National Immigration Administration has announced a new policy allowing foreign tour groups from Hong Kong and Macau to enter Hainan province without a visa for up to 144 hours. This visa-free policy, effective from July 30, is available to citizens of countries that have diplomatic relations with China. The policy, approved by the State Council, aims to boost tourism in Hainan, a popular resort island in southern China. Tour groups must be registered in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions to qualify for the visa-free entry. The announcement was made on Tuesday.
