VisitChhattisgarh Police Seize Fake Currency Printed by Naxalites in Sukma District
Jun 23, 2024, 09:22 AM
In a significant development, police in Chhattisgarh have seized fake currency notes printed by Naxalites. This marks the first instance of such an operation being uncovered in the region. The fake notes were allegedly used in weekly markets in the interior areas of the Bastar region and Sukma District, duping innocent tribals. A joint search operation by the police, CRPF, and District Reserve Guard led to the discovery of the counterfeit currency operation in the Korajguda forests. Equipment such as color printers, inverters, and ink were found in Maoist camps. Local authorities have initiated awareness campaigns to combat the use of fake currency.
