VisitChatGPT Hits 300 Million Weekly Users, Targets 1 Billion by Year-End
Dec 4, 2024, 06:17 PM
OpenAI's ChatGPT has surpassed 300 million weekly active users, marking a significant milestone in its user growth. This achievement was announced by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman during The New York Times’ DealBook Summit. The chatbot has seen a rapid increase in its user base, reaching this number just over three months after hitting 200 million weekly active users in August. Additionally, Altman revealed that users are now sending over 1 billion messages daily through the platform. More than 10 million people are paying for a premium version of ChatGPT, which costs $20 per month, generating an estimated $2.7 billion in annual revenue. OpenAI is also aiming to reach 1 billion active users by the end of the year, as stated by its new Chief Marketing Officer. Over 1.3 million developers in the US have built on OpenAI's platform.
