VisitCharlotte Dujardin Withdraws from Paris Olympics, Receives Six-Month Ban Over Video Incident
Jul 23, 2024, 04:44 PM
Charlotte Dujardin, Britain's joint-most decorated female Olympian and three-time Olympic dressage champion, has withdrawn from the Paris 2024 Olympics after a video emerged showing her making an 'error of judgement' during a coaching session. The video, which dates back four years, allegedly shows Dujardin hitting a horse repeatedly on the legs during a slow-motion trot. The International Federation for Equestrian Sports has provisionally suspended Dujardin for six months, citing conduct contrary to the principles of horse welfare. Dujardin, a six-time dressage medallist, has expressed deep shame and apologized for her actions.
