VisitChargers Secure First Win in Denver Since 2018, Herbert Sets Season-High 237 Yards
Oct 13, 2024, 10:41 PM
In a closely contested NFL game, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Denver Broncos 23-16. The Chargers built a commanding 20-0 lead by halftime, driven by quarterback Justin Herbert's impressive performance. Herbert set a season-high with 237 passing yards and one touchdown, completing 18 of 26 passes in the first half. The Chargers ran 45 offensive plays in the first half, tying their most in a first half since 2000, and held the Broncos scoreless until the fourth quarter. Broncos quarterback Bo Nix threw for 189 yards in the fourth quarter alone, finishing with 216 yards. Despite a late rally by the Broncos, including a 40-yard field goal by Lutz, the Chargers secured the victory. Bo Nix had an epic scramble for a first down. Jim Harbaugh overcame illness to lead the Chargers, and Quentin Johnston played through an ankle injury. This marked the Chargers' first win in Denver since 2018.
